Hi, I’m Jonathan.
I like making complex software feel simple. I’m a co-founder at Limber, where I work across design, frontend engineering, and AI.
Outside work, you’ll usually find me with my family at one of our summer cottages, looking after the place, playing with the kids, or heading out for a hike. The scene behind this text isn’t any one of those places, but it has their look and feel. It follows the seasons and the time of day where you are.
What I’m working on
At Limber, we’re building the system engineering companies run their projects on. In project delivery, a drawing or specification changes and someone keeps working from the old one. That is how expensive mistakes happen. Limber keeps every document, revision and requirement current in one place, so nothing gets built or ordered against outdated information.
I’ve built the entire frontend, and I care most about the parts that make that complexity disappear. I’m especially interested in designing products around AI, and using LLMs for more than chat apps.
Before Limber
At Trimble, I worked on graphics engines for buildings, roads and point clouds.
My main R&D project was a geometry database engine, running in the browser, that could load models far larger than anything we had managed before. It showed what was possible, and changed the roadmap of many products.
It taught me how far you can get by going back to first principles. I owe a lot of that to the great mentors I had there.
Get in touch
I’m open to occasional consulting and speaking about designing products around AI. I do that, and my work at Limber, through my own company, Aschan Consulting. Limber keeps me busy, so I take on a little at a time.
